Finance Department

All aspects of accounting are carried out through the Finance Department including payment of all invoices and the receipt of all monies. The financial records of all departments are compiled by the Finance Department and must be segregated from each other. Preparing the annual budget is also a function which is undertaken by the Finance Department in cooperation with the other CPC Departments. The Finance Department is responsible for preparing the annual audit in cooperation with an independent auditing firm. The process is on-going year round with the major part of the work completed during July, August and September. There are many other things that the Finance Department does including investments of reserve funds, and coordination of insurance programs such as property, liability and worker's compensation. Asset records for all funds and inventories are maintained as well. Debt management and long-range financial planning are also the responsibility of the Finance Department. The other major area of responsibility for the Finance Department is staying current with all reporting for all Federal Government regulatory agencies, including the IRS and SEC. 

Responsibilities of the Finance Department include:
          Measure and report on financial results
          Manage CPC debt
          Vendor payments
          Maintain property and inventory records
          Claims management
          Administer safety and insurance programs
          Payroll administration
          Long-range financial planning
          Federal government regulatory reporting
          Grant accounting
          Manage investment and cash
          Bank reconciliations
