existing systems. Cryptology is a
key focus of the Computer Department as
it applies both to puzzle development
and securing corporate information.
Cryptology extends well beyond written
text and symbols as it applies to all
systems that have an underlying order
(both computers and puzzles).
Puzzles are basically complex systems
that have been reordered in a way that
obscures their meaning, message or
original form. Cryptology is the
essence of “Chaos Theory” . An encrypted
message can appear to be chaotic but the
challenge lies in finding the hidden
order of the system.
