Wharton Challenge - by DB & BNB

In December of 2004, CPC Board Members Dirty_Bird & BigNastyBrain set out on a, self imposed, adventure/challenge to “Clear Wharton State Forest” in the shortest total time possible. On January 5th they were successful and had CLEARED all active caches within the bounds of WHARTON STATE FOREST.

DB & BNB divided Wharton into a few large sections and tackled each section in a single timed cache outing. Kind of like a “Tour de France” of geocaching.
In total it took six trips and a Grand Total of 56 hours and 30 minutes to find the 98 caches within the boundaries of Wharton State Forest.

DB & BNB invested a lot of time planning this challenge and their approach to each section. They used topo maps of the entire area and plotted exactly where all of the caches were located – they then selected the roads that they would take to each cache before they even started. They tried to be prepared for every scenario and problem that might arise. Ropes, chains, come-along, flashlights, camping equipment, survival equipment, tons of batteries, bikes, kayaks, machetes, reflectors, spare clothes, food & water – everything. You name it and they probably had it with them. This might provide some insight as to how you might want to be prepared for the Choreographed Chaos challenge.
